Sports Overview:
The Dizzy Llamas volleyball program beat out the competition to win the Dizzy Llamas second Boston championship. Fueled by stars Dave McMahon, Dave Claffey and captain Adam Howe, the Llamas steamrolled teams in the regular season. In the finals, their biggest rival took them to a third and decisive game, but the Llamas’ cool approach and incredible athleticism won the day.
The Llamas four dodgeball teams have had varying results so far this season, but with all four expected to make the playoffs, odds are good for another championship for the Llamas. Team Green led by Shane Knowles has worked their way up to the top of the standings after a disappointing prior season. Ranked second, they are one of the only teams to beat the top team with unyielding consistency. Tom Boates, Ashely Parker and Team White have also worked their way to the top of the pack, with teams Blue and Black having breakout inaugural seasons.
The DL Softball program is midway through the summer season, with several breakout performances. Pitchers Victoria Catalan and Hemang Kotecha have kept teams competitive, while big hitters Ed Reynolds, Jen Kuzmick and Nick Bruce have been keeping pace with the best in the league. All three Llamas teams have already improved upon last season’s records.
